San Diego 2009

Where to start...We have been back from our fabulous San Diego vacation for a week now, and I am just getting around to posting this. You all know how it is when you get back from vacation, you have to get everything back in order. Anyway, here is how our trip went.
Getting There: We had a great flight to San Diego. We thought Liam would nap the whole flight like he did when we flew to Vegas, not so much the case. He was really good though. He hardly fussed and as long as he had his Cheetos and the flight attendant to flirt with he was good. We got hooked up with the rental car without any problems, and as soon as Liam was in his car seat he was out. He slept the whole way until we got to our condos, which was about a 45 minute drive.
The Theme Parks: Okay, I am pretty much theme parked out for the next little while. Don't get me wrong we had a blast at them, but walking around theme parks for 4 out of the 6 days on vacation will make any one's feet hurt. We went to Sea World for 2 days in a row. Josh, Liam and I pretty much saw everything we wanted to see in the first day. We did all the shows and made it to most of the animal displays. Liam liked Shamu, but I think his favorite was the sea lion show. We went back the second day just in case there was anything we missed. I'm glad we went back because at the circus show Dale, Josh's brother, was picked out of the audience and had to mimic these clown people. It was pretty funny and I got it all on tape just in case his son Logan wanted to show it to his friends. (Logan was pretty much mortified of his Dad and wouldn't even dream of showing it to his friends).
Anyway, Sea World was fun and Liam did so good for being in his stroller 2 whole days.
The Beach: After the two days at Sea World we all needed a break, so we decided to just relax and spend some time at the beach. The condos we stayed at were only about a 5-10 minute walk to the ocean. I think this was Liam's favorite part of the whole trip, he loved it so much. He loved walking and digging in the sand, and he absolutely loved the water. He wanted to crawl into the waves whenever they would come to shore. So cute!!
The Zoo: The Zoo was just another Zoo. It was huge, a lot bigger compared to the Hogle Zoo. The animals we liked that our Zoo doesn't have were the Koala Bears and the Pandas. That sums up the Zoo.
Lego Land: This was our favorite theme park out of them all. So cool!! We are totally going to take Liam back in a few years. It is a great place for kids ages 3-12. There are a lot of cool rides if Liam was just a few years older and a lot of cool interactive stuff for the kids to play with. Liam did get to go on the train and the fairy tale boat ride, which he seemed to enjoy.
Going Home: We had a great trip home as well. We were just in time to catch our flight, they were boarding as we got there. Liam was so good for this flight too. It was a bumpy flight towards the end as we entered SLC because of the thunderstorms, and Liam fell asleep as we landed on the ground, but what can you do. He did take another nap on the ride home .
We had a fabulous vacation, and had so much fun with Dale, Eileen, Amber and the boys. Liam loves his cousins so much and loved playing and wrestling with the boys especially Kegan and Logan. We want to say a special thank you to Dale and Eileen for inviting us and for the condo. We appreciate it so much and are so blessed to have them as family.
